When Hunter and Zander were younger I would use this blog to document funny and wise things they said, mostly Hunter because Zander was still so young. When I ran out of space I started keeping track of different things they would say on my phone, whether it was funny, nice, random, hockey stats, etc. Here are some that I have saved.

9/21/17
The other night, Jason was eating peanuts and Hunter asked for some, he ate some & asked for more stating, "do these have peanut butter on them?" 😳😂 Hunter, Peanut Butter is made from peanuts. Hahah
The classic ice cream story -
I think this was when Hunter was in either 3rd or 4th grade, so 2014/2015. His class was having a celebration, I believe it was their Christmas party. I sent in a carton of ice cream for our contribution to his class party and told Hunter as soon as he gets to school make sure to take it down to the kitchen so they can put it in the freezer. All day I wondered how the party went (I would usually attend his classroom parties, but this one I couldn't make it to).
Hunter got home from school and had his friend, Ben, over. I asked Hunter how the party went and if they liked the ice cream. Hunter got really excited and said and ran in the garage to get his backpack. He brings it in the house, unzips his backpack and pulls out the ice cream carton, which is by now all melted and dripping. Ben and I both looked at Hunter like what in the world, hahaha. Hunter was so excited and said now we can refreeze it and eat it ourselves.
I asked Hunter what happened, and he said, I forgot to take the ice cream to the kitchen. I can't believe it sat in his locker all day long. Hunter said, I wondered why it was leaking out my backpack. HAHAHA. Oh my gosh, It was SO so funny! To see the look on Ben's face, he could not believe it.
This is one that Hunter will never live down.

Zander was really loud in the truck at the bus stop & I said hey Zander, and he said, "what, are you allergic to noise?" Haha

Zander- mom what were your thoughts on your wedding day-
I talked about our wedding day, how I was nervous, how dad was sweating because it was so hot.
Zander- I know where I’m getting married- on a beach, at sunset, with the person that talks his back to the sunset and the thing you stand under facing the sunset so everybody can see us and the beach and sunset.
Me- are you going to get married on a beach near here or by the ocean?
Zander- I’m going to get married here then take our honeymoon in Hawaii or something.
Hunter walks in-
Hunter, where do you want to get married?
Hunter - -2
Me - ??
Hunter- it’s a joke.
Later on Hunter says, I want to get married outside maybe by a wine vineyard or cherry orchard with a barn that’s decorated. I wouldn’t have it on the beach because I don’t want my wife’s dress to get all sandy.
I love that the boys will talk about this stuff with me, Mayes me happy, my heart full and proud of what kind of guys these 2 will become.
Zander - Mom. I love u, you're so nice, you're the nicest mom any kid could have. We're lucky that grandma C had you & grandma Lori had dad because without you being born we wouldn't have a mommy or daddy.
Zander is so wise beyond his years & so sweet.

Zander Going to bed-
Mom I'm scared (crying hard), I'm scared that when I die I won't have anything to do.
Me- oh Zander please don't worry about that, mommy & daddy will do everything they can to keep u safe.
Z- but I could die when I'm 8 or 9 or 10-
I Absolutely hate that Z worries so much about bad things happening. How do you reassure a 6 year old that he will be ok if tomorrow is already planned? He is so deep thinking.

Z almost asleep- mom who answers when you call 911? Like how does the fire truck or ambulance or police know where to go?
Me- I explain central dispatch & how that works. We go over our address & what to say if you have to call 911.
Once again Zander is such a deep thinker. His little mind works overtime thinking of possible scenario that could happen.

Zander started hockey today. He's been bugging us for a while & last weekend in Toronto at Hunters tournament he got a new stick & that was it, he wanted to play so bad.
He did great for coming in 3 months late- he's one of the faster skaters just needs to really work on the other skills.
Hunter 2016
Hunter Pee Wee A Travel Most Sportsmanship award for 2nd year in a row
Won Ferris State Shootout Skills competition
Went undefeated 2 years in a row at Ferris 3v3 - won championship- had 6 goals
Tried out & made the U12 Meijer State Games North Hockey Team!!! This is like the Olympics for Michigan.
Hunter has been asked to be on the All Stars baseball team which is the team coaches choose of players they think will represent the team well.
6/7/16- Hunter won the Mrs. McKinney Scholarship Award at his 5th grade celebration to attend the basketball camp he wanted to go to.
2017
Won Ferris Stare 3v3 for 3rd year in a row
-On the U14 Meijer State Games
2017 Hunter got cut from BTA Northstars but then was picked up by BTAA Northstars, playing with kids 2-3 years older was a great experience for Hunter. He played forward again after being Defense for the past 4 years. He scored goals and started hitting really well.
2018-Hunter got the Most Improved Award for the BTAA season he was only a BTA player. Great recognition.
2018- Hunter made Michigan’s Select Hockey teams- top 70 forwards in the state
2019- Hunter went to Selects camp again at LSSU
8/2019- Chosen for TPH Fall Advance Hockey League - had 2 goals and 3 assists in tryouts

Hey mom, you know what I want to be when I grow up?
A chef, race car driver, hockey player and a Dad. And I’m going to be a good one too!
