It’s been 10 years since I last updated this blog, sadly I ran out of space so I couldn’t add more content. Because of this, I started documenting all our family memories on Facebook, however, I feel Hunter and Zander are missing out on all these memories since they’re not on Facebook.
10 years has gone so fast!! Hunter so now 16 years old, and Zander just turned 12. Both are heavily in love with playing hockey. Hunter, as a freshmen, made the Traverse City Central Varsity Hockey team and played a lot. Zander, this same year, made the Petoskey PWA hockey team after getting cut from North Stars SQAA team. Every hockey player has their own journey and my boys are no different.
However, in Spring of 2020, a pandemic hit our world and has been messing with it ever since. Schools were cancelled, sports were cancelled, we were essentially locked down in our homes, weren’t allowed to go much of anywhere. Masks were introduced and people have been wearing them for precautions for the past year and a half. Students at school have been required to wear them and they caused many problems for my boys. Hunter suffered greatly from migraines constantly, every day. Zander suffered from anxiety and headaches and frankly to be honest, it has sucked big time. Seeing my boys suffering when they should be enjoying the best years of their life has weighed heavily on me. My mama bear has defiantly roared its ugly head and I won’t apologize for it!
We are hoping for a regular hockey season for Hunters junior year at Central since his sophomore year was cut short. And Zander is on the North Stars for the 2nd year in a row and is a force offensively.
In the past few years Hunter has been invited to selects camp at Lake Superior State, played on TPH 15U, 16U and this year 18U. He has traveled to Toronto, MN, Chicago, Boston, Nashville, many places playing hockey. It’s a good way to see new places. Zander has also gotten to travel to some cool places, Chicago, Pittsburgh, and lots of trips around the state.
As for me and Jason. Jason started his own business, Sit Means Sit Dog Training about 6 years ago and has been growing and growing ever since. His business has a doggy daycare and Grandma Lori works it, Ryan also helps train the dogs.
I left working for Grand Traverse County the past 12 years, with 10 of those working at the county jail to now working at the Traverse City Clerks Office, with a little bump at TCAPS before starting with the city. So far I’m liking it.
We now have a dog, Jake, who loves playing fetch and carries a ball in his mouth at most times. And a cat, Jet, who is jet black and 26 lbs. Jet likes to hunt our yard and bring home lots of different animals, birds, bunnies, mice, if he can catch it he’ll bring it home.
I’ve taken so many pictures these past 10 years and I wish I could post them all, lol. If this blog continues to let me, I will update more often. I like to be able to have one spot to read about memories.
