Folgmann to represent Team Michigan in elite national hockey tournament
TRAVERSE CITY - Zander Folgmann, a sophomore at Traverse City Central, has been selected to represent Team Michigan in the upcoming CCM National Invitational Hockey Tournament. The event will take place in Minnesota and features top talent from across the country.
Folgmann earned his spot on the roster after a tryout where he was named one of the top 12 forward in the freshman and sophomore classes in Michigan. The selection follows a strong season for the Traverse City Central Trojans hockey team.
The tournament features elite teams from several states, including Wisconsin, Minn., N.D. and Colorado The event serves as a platform for players to compete against high-level competition from across the Midwest and Western United States.
Folgmann, a Traverse City Central sophomore hockey player, said his ultimate goal is to play Division I hockey. He noted that the tournament provides a chance to display his skills in front of scouts from multiple levels of the sport. “It’s a great opportunity to play with some of the best players in the state and play against some of the best players in the country and it’s really highly scouted,” Folgmann said. “So it’s definitely a great opportunity to get my name out there.”
