Hunters graduation 2023

Hunter graduated!!

This did not come easy. The last semester of Hunter’s high school career got cut short because of the concussion he received in his last high school hockey game. Hunter suffered from debilitating symptoms and could not attend school nor could he work on his computer for any extended periods of time.

The staff at TC Central were absolutely amazing, including Mr. Guiney, Hunters principal. We were in constant touch with Mr. Guiney from day 1 giving him updates on Hunters condition. Because of his severe symptoms, Mr. Guiney dropped 4 of Hunters classes that weren’t needed because he had enough credits earned. He only needed to complete his English class which included a big senior research paper and 1 online class.

The school gave Hunter extra time, til August, to complete his research paper and they also gave him a month extra past graduation to finish his online class. We are so thankful for how wonderful they were. Mr. Guiney assured us that Hunter would be walking with his class in June and will receive his diploma when he finished his last 2 classes.

To say I was emotional on graduation day is a complete understatement. How did we get here so fast? How is our first born already done with high school? To say I will miss watching Hunter play his sports is a huge understatement and I’ll probably go thru some withdrawls and emotional moments as I watch Trojan soccer and hockey.

Graduation day was absolutely perfect! Held at Interlochen Arts Academy, this is also where Hunter worked throughout the summer. Grandma Lori and Grandpa Mark also came to watch Hunter walk actoss the stage. We then went out to eat at Olive Garden, one of Hunters favorite restaurants. That evening was the senior all night party.

It was an absolute perfect day from start to finish and we are so beyond proud of Hunter.
