Buc-ee’s - Athens, AL, this place is crazy! 100 gas pumps, cheap gas, food, clothing, more food, home goods, etc.
So we stop at Buc-ee’s inside of the AL/TN line, we’re in this long car line to get in and we pass Stacey and Gregg Bird, who were just leaving, yell hello and goodbye out our windows to each other.
As we’re inside, amongst hundreds of people, a guy comes up to Hunter and says, TC Central Hockey? Hunter isn’t wearing anything that says TC hockey or Trojans, Hunter says yah, Looking at him like how the heck did you know while checking to see if he’s wearing anything to give it away. The guy then asks Hunter what # he was, Hunter says 22. He says, “I’m the Saline Hockey coach and I followed your truck in and recognized you.”
After we talked a few minutes, Hunters like, I’m nationally known, hahha
Then, Zander runs into his TC North Stars teammate, Elliott, Margaret Seddon Mason.
This is all in Alabama, hundreds of miles away from home.
On the way down in IN, I pull up behind a vehicle with a Titans Hockey sticker in the window, happened to be Shelly Gingras Robertson, pulled up beside her, honked and waved.
Seeing all these familiar faces have made the start of vacation that much better. It’s a small world and it seems hockey is somehow always weaved into our lives.
