July 2019 Washington DC

Washington DC Trip
Hunter 14 - Zander 9

Both our flights had little delays yesterday, one at the beginning, one during flight (check out the oval pattern we made in flight in the way to DC). By time we got to DC everything was basically closed but walking around was sill cool (they are setting up for their 4th of July Celebration) until the storm hit for a couple hours, then out we went to explore the city at night.

The Capitol, Spy Museum, Library of Congress, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, White House- Today was a HOT one with lots of walking and lots of complaints about walking and it being hot, finally gave in and called an Uber, but we did see lots of cool places, with many more on the list for tomorrow.

Raining on the 4th of July, walking forever in the humid heat, pushing our way along with thousands of others, hearing protestors and whistle blowers, listening to Z complain about all of the above and more was still all worth it to be part of history with President Trumps honored speech 🇺🇸 seeing amazing flyovers from the countries elite ✈️ witnessing pretty cool fireworks💥(except for the darn smoke taking over), riding the DC Metro subway for the first time 🚊, I would say the 4th ended with quite a bang!!
