I love seeing all the kids dressed up, especially going to the boys school for their parades and class parties. Many years we would head to downtown Traverse City to trick-r-treat on Washington St. The houses were always decorated so great, not only would they hand out candy but also hot cider and maybe an adult beverage.
Here’s a look at some of Halloween’s throughout the years
October, 2012
Hunter - 8
Zander - 3
Grandma Lori always dressed up on Halloween. This year she was a butterfly
When mom worked for the county jail, we would stop by there, get dressed, use the bathroom and take a picture
Hunter was the closest to pinning the nose just right! Yay Hunter at his class Halloween party
2014
Hunter - 10
Mitchell - 10
Zander - 5
This year the weather started out nice but it turned cold and windy day. We trick-r-treated downtown for a while with Hunter best friend Mitchell and had to go check out the waves on the bay and splashing over the break walls. I had the boys stand in front to get a picture but Hunter got a little too close and got soaked bt some big waves. We then went back to our neighborhood and I drive them around to get more candy. I believe Jason had to work late so he did t get to come along this time. Grandma Lori was Glenda the Good Witch from Wizard of Oz
2015
Hunter - 9
Zander - 6
This was a fun Halloween! Jason dressed as the Tooth Fairy with rusty pluses trying to pull kids teeth out and Grandma Lori was a fat ballerina. The kids and teachers at Cherry Knoll all got a kick out of their costumes.
Jadon embarrassing Hunter in his class
Hunter and friends in Kindergarten and 5th grade
I can’t believe how fast these years have gone by. I’m so glad we had so much fun over the years attending their class parties and holidays, it’s been the best!
Zanders Kindergarten class- Mrs. McMillan was his teacher
Hunter and his friends from his hockey team
The first year trick-r-tearing without Mitchell, so the boys posed in front of his house
2016- getting our pumpkins
We waited a little too long to get pumpkins this year but that worked out in our favor since we only had to pay $2 per pumpkin at Edgecombs farm stand.
2016
Hunter - 11
Zander - 6
The most perfect Halloween night 🎃 in downtown Traverse City! 👻 we love trick-r-treating down here! Hunter was dressed as a girl and Zander as a ninja. Jason got dressed up as an old lady who lost her dog…. In her backside. And Grandma Lori was dressed up as Kim Kardashian.
Nothing like going to MC Sports in your Halloween outfit to try on basketball shoes 🏀. I laugh every time I look at this picture of Hunter. 😂
2017
Hunter - 12
Zander - 7
“It’s Halloween people, not Christmas!” ~Zander 🎃❄️👻
The day started off pretty darn cold as you can see by the picture of Zander in the snow. We started the day off by going to Cherry Knoll for the Halloween festivities. Hunter is now in middle school so I no longer get to have any fun with him in school, I miss that a lot!
Zanders class - Mrs Rowneys 2nd/3rd grade split
Every year we debate if we should go trick-r-treating somewhere other than downtown TC and every year we decide nope, we shouldn’t, it continues to get better and better and we love it! The weather was great, the costumes were awesome, the decorations were perfect, the entertainment was fun and we couldn’t have asked for any better~ we’ll be back next year!!
Hunter and his friend Parker, Hunter went as a goon hockey player and Parker is the hockey ref
Me and our neighbor Gina
