Florida

Months of waiting and planning, Hunter counting down on his custom made countdown calendar, packing and preparing and we're already back, phew that went by fast!!!

Our trip to Florida was a BLAST!! We had an amazing time even with the 90+ temperatures all 8 days. I am beyond extactic to have been given the opportunity to take Hunter and Zander (even though he won't remember anything) to Florida and better yet to DISNEY WORLD!!! Hunter had such a good time that the morning after we arrived back home, he came up to me with tears in his eyes, when I asked him what was wrong he gave me a hug and said, "I miss Florida" which then brought tears to my eyes because I missed Florida too.

Our vacation in a nutshell: Saturday, May 1st: Hunter gets to finally fly on an airplane and let me tell you he was not the least bit afraid (unlike his mother). He wanted the window seat and didn't take his eyes off it during the whole takeoff (unlike his mother who was hiding her head on Jasons arm while putting a death grip on Zander). We landed in Orlando and made our way to our hotel for the first night. The weather was warm and scenery beautiful, we are beyond excited to be in Florida.

Sunday, May 2nd: We check into our timeshare condos, they are awesome. They are just like a condo, beautifully decorated, full kitchen, 2 beds 2 baths, patio overlooking a river with a fountain. The complex has 5 pools that are all unique and different. We head down to eat at A&W because Hunter is wanting chilli fries and then go swimming. That evening we catch the last 30 minutes of the outside movie down by one of the pools.

Zanders surfing!

Hunter learned how to snorkel and did awesome! He could swim under water for a long time!

Monday, May 3rd: We head over to Clearwater Beach, what a beautiful drive (once you get near the ocean). The weather again is HOT but the beach was windy, however, a few of us still got fried on our backs. This was Hunters first time to the ocean! The ocean was warm and Hunter was using his ninja skills on the big waves that were rolling in. Zander couldn't get enough of the sand.....in his mouth. No matter how many times I tried taking the sand out of his hand and his hand out of his mouth he still went for more, yuk!!!

Attack of the birds!

Tuesday, May 4th: We're going to Disney World! We visited Animal Kingdom, however, we didn't get there until about 12:30pm and the park closed at 5:00pm (I thought it closed at 9pm, oops.) Again it is way HOT!!! We get to go on the Safari and ride in a jeep to see all the cool animals. Hunters favorite part was chasing down the poachers who had kidnapped a baby elephant. We chased them away and was able to save the baby elephant who would get returned to its Mommy. Jason and Hunter then went on the Kali River Rapids. Hunter loved it and got soaked!!! He had to take me on it again! After the park we ate at the Rainforest Cafe, which was very cool!! We visited Downtown Disney and got to see the cool lego store and many other disney stores. Then it was back again to the pools to do some late night swimming.

They just got soaked!!!

The Camouflage family!

A transformer made out of Legos! Is there anything cooler than that?

Wednesday, May 5th: Our second day at Disney World. We went to Magic Kingdom. It was so cool to walk through mainstreet and see the Castle ahead of you growing bigger and bigger as you get closer. Everybody went: Kyle, Sonya, Alivia, Ryan, Ashley, Baby Mark, Grandma, Grandpa (though Grandpa was not feeling well so he had to leave.) Hunter became a real pirate, getting this honor from Captain Jack Sparrow. Hunter can now go on any pirate ship in the world. Although we went of the pirate ride (which takes you underground where it's dark and then you see scenes of a pirates life) and Hunter, sounding very unsure of all this, told us that he did not want to be a pirate anymore! We rode the Magic Carpet Ride, Dumbo, the Teacups, went through It's a Small World (the song with the little people singing and dancing is still in my head!) One of the coolest rides was the alien shooting ride. Again you go in a dark building and there is glow in the dark aliens that you get to shoot and rack up points. Hunter had to go on this ride twice. Hunter also got to drive a race car. We stayed to see the fireworks at dark! The castle actually kind of looked like a hunted house because of all the different colors it turned. Zander was very enthralled with the fireworks, his eyes were very big while watching them and the look on his face was priceless! Once again, we went swimming when we got back!

Hunter getting his pirate certificate from Captain Jack!

There they go racing with Hunter driving!!!

Oh Mickey and Minnie!! They were so nice!!

Give me some lovin!

Everybody minus Grandpa

Watching the fireworks!

Thursday, May 6th: We spent the entire day at the pools. Awe, nice and relaxing and just swimming. In the evening we watched The Robinsons on the big movie screen while swimming.
Friday, May 7th: We went out to breakfast and went back to Downtown Disney where Hunter got to design and make his very own remote control race car. we also went shopping at the outlet malls. Then it was back again to the pools. That evening we went out to eat a very yummy seafood restaurant, Grandma and Grandpa went with us. We tried to go put-put golfing at the cool Valcano course, however, we weren't paying what they wanted for just put-putting. So once again it was back to the pools to swim.

Saturday, May 8th: This was Grandma, Grandpa, Ryan, Ashley and Marks last day, they had to leave in the afternoon to catch their flight back to the very cold MI where it snowed. It was still very HOT in Florida. We went down the big blow up slide, which goes super fast and is super fun and spent the rest of the day swimming. Late at night it was time to start packing, I have no clue how we fit everything in to come back home.

Sunday, May 9th: It's our day to leave, ugh!!! After checking out by 10 am (the earliest we were out and about all week!) we went out to breakfast and than back to the pool area to play in the arcade and then...yep, you guessed it, back in the pool for one last hoorah!! It felt so surreal to be leaving, we could have stayed there for another week atleast. Even though we missed home and Sage and Skye, it was so nice and refreshing to get away!

Now I know why people take vacations. There is nothing like going to a new place or even just getting away where you have no worries and can spend your days however y0u want. I am so happy that Hunter had such a fun time. When we were in Orlando Airport waiting for our plane, Hunter said, "Mom, how many days are we going to be in Michigan?" I said, "Well, we live in Michigan, so we'll be there for alot of days." Hunter then said, "No Mom, I mean how long are we going to be in Michigan until we can come back to Florida again?" I had to laugh, how cute!!!
