The Christmas tree was put up the weekend after Thanksgiving, however, the star that we had was very cheap and we just plain didn't like it. So the search to find the perfect star began. After trips to about 6 different stores spread throughout Traverse City, driving through the snow covered roads, we finally found the perfect star for our perfect tree.
Hunter and I began our day at Sonya's Mom's house to join in the Annual Christmas Cookie Baking Day. After we finished baking we headed home in the cold, blustery weather. Jason was really bored while waiting for us to get home so he decided he wanted to go do something. We decided to go to some stores to continue our search for our Christmas Star, never mind the blizzard happening outside. We also decided to hand out Hunter's birthday invitations, since we planned on celebrating his birthday the following week.
After barely being able to get in and out of our neighbors driveways, running up to their houses to personally hand them their invitation without getting frostbit on our noses and trudging down our snowy, 2-track looking street, we did manage to make it to some stores. I seriously think that Traverse City only employs 2 snow plow trucks, one on the east side and one on the west, because all around the roads just plain stink! Our last stop was to Michaels, Jason actually thought of it, and thank goodness, because it was here that we found our perfect star. Our snowy adventure to find the perfect star payed off, we now have the perfect star atop the perfect tree.
