The day started off rather dreary in Traverse City, MI. We got a call from Kyle and Sonya to see if we wanted to go on their new boat, well you don't have to ask us twice. We packed up our stuff and off we went. As soon as we were leaving the clouds started to part and the beautiful blue sky and sun peeked out. Once we were on the boat, and out in the bay away's we broke out the tube to go tubing. I went first, with Jason behind the wheel, not a good combination. Everything was going great, it was a lot of fun, I could tell that the boat was going rather fast, but I was jumping the waves until suddenly I crashed and down I came, knocking the breath out of me and my bottoms off of me. Thank goodness for life jackets!!! Finally I got my pants pulled up and they slowly circled back to get me in what felt like forever. Hunter was crying as soon as I got on the tube and was crying even more when he didn't see Mommy on the tube anymore. Jason, Kyle and Sonya said I took a nasty spill but it looked really cool, it looked like I did a 360 in the air, hey anything to entertain them right?!? I believe Jason was going about 35 mph, the speed they said to go with experienced tubers, so apparently I am classified as an experienced tuber or just stupid to get on the tube with Jason behind the wheel. Next was Kyles turn and then Sonya's. We all had our own story on the tube, Kyle crashed but not as bad as mine, and Sonya somehow managed to pull the whole cover off of the tube, but still staying on the actual tube, so there she is in the middle of the bay just floating on the tube which at this point is not attached to anything. We asked if Hunter wanted to go on and float with Mommy, he said "I too scared", do you blame him? Poor child had no clue what was going on.
We were going to watch the fireworks from the boat but then decided to take it in and watch them from land, so that's what we did. Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Kyle, Sonya, Uncle Ryan, Ashley, Hunter, Daddy and Mommy the other thousands of people on land waiting for the 15 minute firework show over the bay. Hunter enjoyed them, and being the little stunt man that he is, everytime a big boom would go off it was his excuse to fall to the ground and make his own little grunting noise. All in all it was great 4th of July.
